The attack of gokuburi-san

May 10th, 2008 by peewee78

Sometimes, I’m amazed by our inborn ability to sense danger.

Just last night, I was working on the computer when
something inside tells me to turn around and behold, crouching right
there on the door was the filthiest, smelliest, ugliest and largest cockroach I had ever seen.

All was well until the cockroach realised that his
tracks have been uncovered. Not ready to beat a hasty retreat, the
cockroach did what I feared most…

At just $10 per calendar, these make great corporate gifts for your clients and loved ones!

$10 may be the cost of a simple meal or a movie ticket but this same amount of money goes a long way in helping these homeless animals lead a decent life without having to forage for food in the streets!

Family takes pet farm to court

October 3rd, 2007 by peewee78

SINGAPORE: A family is taking a pet farm to court for selling them a puppy, which apparently has only a year to live.

The Oh family bought a three-month-old puppy for over S$3,000 about a month ago.

But they soon learnt that it suffers from heart problems.

The family discovered this when they took their puppy for its third injection.

They feel that the pet farm should not have sold them a puppy which had not been sent for a thorough check-up.

The pet farm had refused to give a refund and had apparently ignored the calls from the family.

SEE? (Nay, I told you so!)

This is WHAT happened when people DON’T listen and DON’T do homework. Jin pai see want to support the puppymill trade and see who is the one that suffers in the end? Is it the puppymill operator? Or the family who were ‘unfortunate’ enough to bought a sickly dog?

WHO is the real victim here now? Think about it!

Remember, what you paid with your money, the dog paid with it’s life! The $3K which the Oh family had paid could be earned again but the NOT the life of the poor puppy!  So, please, please, I know this has been discussed to death already but still, I just have to say it once more.

DO NOT SUPPORT PUPPYMILLS!  DO NOT SUPPORT THE BASTARDS RUNNING IT!  THEY ARE EVIIIIIIIIL!

*Lightning flashes*

This whole puppymill business doesn’t only happen overseas and is NOT a fairy tale that I conjure up.  This evil trade has all along been happening in our dear Singapore only you don’t know it! I do hope that this news could raise more awareness so EVERYONE could learn about the truth!

At this point of time, I only hope the Oh family would not give up on the poor puppy and love him for who he is till his very last breathe.  I also hope that the Oh family is seeking redress against the puppymill for their unethical breedings and not just to recover their $3K.

Poor puppy.  Yet another casualty sacrificed in the evil trade.

Exam and Zheng Fa ‘LIVE’ Seafood

September 15th, 2007 by peewee78

Just a quick post before I turn in for the night morning.

I finally had my final exam Advanced Accounting II yesterday.  Hope I can make it lah if not,  I really don’t know what to do anymore.  Kenna XXX as invigilator and it so happend that I sat in front of her.  She kept staring at me as if she have penetrating vision to see through my clothes and see my sexy gorgous body inside.  I grew scared until I can’t remember a single thing that I ‘d memorised the night before and I had clean forgotten everything about Cashflow except the format…

Combined with CA 1 and CA 2, I only needed 20 more marks to pass.  I pray hard that tee-kong will bopi bopi this gong-kia to pass if not I have to be road sweeper or pantry uncle already.

I finished my paper at 11am but I’ll be meeting some classmates to have steamboat at Marina South in the evening.  I don’t want to go home then come out again so I stayed inside the SC Room to pass the time.  I thought I could keep myself occupied till 6.30pm but I was terribly wrong.  By 1pm, I had already run out of things to do and I decided to go galivanting at J8 when Farzanah called me to meet up for lunch.

So after lunch, Farzanah went to school to have her Statistics paper at 3pm while I went to J8 to wait for her to finish at 5pm but there’s nothing interesting to see at all.  Actually got lah.  I went to Action City and saw one brown colored, abit transparent plastic teddy bear coinbox very cute but I didn’t buy.  Must save money ah.  After that, I went to MOS Burger to rest but I paiseh to enjoy their air-con for free so I ordered a cup of corn soup and drank for four hours…

Jin gao right?  One small cup of corn soup can drink for four hours…
I was occupying a table for four persons so everytime when there’s someone looking my way for a table, I’ll look down and pretend to stir my soup (when the cup’s already empty).  Haha… Jin chao kuan…

Then Sam and Lan Lan came to look for me and we waited for Farzanah together.  We chatted abit and I told them I wanted to collect one series of Happy Meal toy from last year.  I already had Grimace and I wanted the remaining.  I know there’s also Ronald, Birdy and Hamburglar.

After what seems like forever, Farzanah finally arrived and we head to Zheng Fa at Marina South for steamboat!

I haven’t been there for at least ten years already and the whole place looked very different now.  The Zheng Fa place was really huge and pretty confusing for a first timer like me.  I went to collect the prawns then the uncle asked me want crabs or not so I said okay lor then he buay gum guan show me attitude and said that I must bring plate if I wanted crabs.  How I know wor, hurt my fragile heart like that… Damn, he never see my complain letter appear in the Straits Times Forum before is it?

Earthlings

Thank you Jeffrey for creating the awareness regarding the animals whom we share this planet with!

There are 3 parts to this documentary.

My heart bleeds upon seeing the terrible things that humans could inflict upon these poor, defenceless animals.  You can straight away jump to 22:12 for the ‘Pets’ section in Part 1 or if your stomach can take it, please take the time to finish all 3 parts to get a better understanding of what is really happening in this world.

It makes me sit back and think:  "Why can’t we humans, the most superior beings of all, learn to respect the existence of other beings lower than ourselves?  Is it beneath our dignity to show some love and compassion to them?"

WARNING!!!

Please see this video. (Not for the fainthearted though)

I don’t want to embed it because I cannot bear to see the image at all.  Dogs have always been our faithful and loyal companion yet this is the sorry ending they get in return.

Please listen to their cries and the haunting echoes that filled the dark corridor when they’re being dragged out to be killed.  This has got to be the most heart-wrenching cries ever!

Could anyone imagine the pain and agony that they’re going through?  Who could ever understand their helplessness as one by one, they succumbed to the effects of the poison and collapse to the ground?  The poor dogs are paralyzed with fear that they’d even lost control over their bowels!

There’s not a single word of comfort nor even a warm hug to help make their passing over easier to bear.  They left this world feeling scared, betrayed and unjustified.  All they leave behind is an air of grievances which they cannot seek redress for.

WHY?  Why should they be made to pay for the mistakes of their owners with their lives??  Do dogs really deserve such wretched lives?

This is the REALITY of what will happen to the dogs that end up at the pound if they cannot find a home!!!

So, please don’t paint such a pretty picture of breeding your dog.  There are already a surplus of them in this world so stop creating more because there are not enough homes for all of them!  Every puppy that you bring into this world would cause the death of a pound dog somewhere else.

You may not realize but what you see in the video could also happen to one of the many puppies whom YOU had bred and sold when his owner didn’t want him anymore.  Same thing for current dog owners, please do not abandon your dogs in the streets now that you knew where they will eventually end up at and the fate that awaits them…

This morning, I attended the ITE Student Achiever’s Awards 2007 at Simei Campus to receive the CCA Medal Award together with Bud, Ivan and Khai.

I was surprised to see some familiar faces whom I didn’t expect to see.  Hema was there to receive the Lee Kuan Yew Model Student AwardHaida and Ziwei are also receiving the same award for their outstanding achievements.

It was good to meet up with my comrades-in-arms once again since graduation.

Congrats to all of us!

cca_medal_open
My award.

The medal looked like the cheap, tasteless chocolate that I used to eat when I was a child. You know, the kind wrapped with gold foils resembling a gold coin? HAHA!

cca_namelist
The name list of the receipients in the booklet.

Not all the EXCOs received the award which is such a shame because all of us has worked really hard.  I’ve also seen Baoshan (Co-Op) and Wanni ( Interact Club) names in the namelist too but they didn’t turn up for the event.

I’m kind of disappointed.  Those who wanna the award were not selected whereas those selected were not there to receive the award but, I guess that’s the way life is.
